Jodie’s story began in the salon world. After finishing her apprenticeship, she quickly became an award‑winning hairstylist, master colourist, and photo shoot specialist. By the age of 19, she was already managing her first salon, an early sign of her natural leadership and drive. While many stylists focus purely on craft, Jodie was already thinking about systems, people, and the bigger picture.
Her career spans more than 23 years in salon and business management. But Jodie didn’t stop there. She stepped into the financial industry, working as a Product Services Adviser and Distributions Manager for a global asset manager. This gave her a whole new set of skills in planning, promoting, and marketing small businesses. When she bought her own salon in 2008, she brought those skills back with her, blending creativity with financial clarity. That combination became her signature strength.
Outside of work, Jodie’s life is full of love and community. She’s married to the man her friends and family call “the most patient man on Earth,” and together they live by the sea with their two children and three fur babies. Her life isn’t just about business, it’s about balance, connection, and giving back.
She volunteers as a surf lifesaver, often driving the rescue craft (the “rubber ducky”) when the weather is fine. In 2018, she co-founded the Inclusive Nippers Program, which ensures kids of all abilities can enjoy the beach and feel included. She still ages‑manages the program today, proving that leadership isn’t just about business, it’s about community impact.
And then came Focus. Alongside Adrienne Varga, Jodie co‑founded this coaching business to help salon, spa, and clinic owners grow with confidence. As the Conceptual Strategist, she brings the big‑picture thinking, creative ideas, and practical systems that make Focus stand out. She helps owners look beyond the day‑to‑day and see what’s really possible for their business.
